And I read EVERYTHING I sign.Ĭarry on wayward son, there'll be Peace when you are done. Is it just me, or did that read like a testimonial? I proofread EVERYTHING before I hit "post". You'll see for yourself, and answer your own question. My personal favorite is the "Faded", or, "Vintage", they're sometimes called, as some examples have neck binding, perfecting it. I've played lots of SG copies in the past, and as far as I'm concerned, the Epiphone was pretty much the superior guitar in every respect. What Do I think of an Epiphone G400? Well Some People would say.Epiphone G400s are the best SG copy out there' date=' and I'm inclined to agree with those pancakes. I would suggest you try a few and go with your gut instinct - if it feels good under the fingers, it probably is the right guitar. I feel I would be hard pressed to find a guitar as good as this one. Maybe I was just lucky, and I have heard that the quality can vary from time to time, but after 30 years of playing, this guitar feels right, sounds right, looks right and quite simply, is right for what I want. Some instruments just seem to have a tactile quality that transcends description and you know when you first pick it up that it will sound good. It looks well put together, sounds brilliant and, most importantly, it feels good under the hands. I must say that I am totally impressed with the quality of the instrument. Clearly 5 songs couldn't justify buying a Gibson (although I did try to sell this idea to my wife) Consequently, the Epiphone seemed to be the obvious choice - (I liked the SG idea as I have seen photographs of Duane Allman and Derek Trucks playing them - I figured: good enough for them good enough for me). In terms of the G400, I bought one about 4 weeks ago as the band I'm currently in wanted me to play slide on some songs in open G tuning (normally I use open D). ![]() I'm new to the forum and want to thank everyone for the advice I've gleaned over the last few weeks. If you want to take a peek and a listen of mine,i just loaded a new clip onto my youtube page, keep us posted on what you decide to get. ![]() I've got a 2003 in Korina that i picked up 2 years ago just trying to complete my Korina collection,(already had a V and an Explorer)I bought it sight unseen on Ebay and was pleasantly suprised to get one in absolutely dead mint condition. It quicly became one of my favorite axes and believe me I've got a couple of killers.Lots of guys likke to mod em out but mine is complletely stock and it does pretty much everything i need it to. Yes IMO a nice g-400 is hard to beat but obviuosly the best thing you can do is try one and see if its for you.
